Story | | He was in Haddam as late as 1766, when he sold and conveyed lands there, which he had from his father's estate, and went to New Milford, Conn. where he resided and bought and sold numerous tracts of land, some of them being in Brookfield, Newbury and Woodbury. His name appears in the census of 1790 in Brookfield, and on other records as late as 1792, and so his wife's. He was called Dr. Nathaniel Towner, and whether an M.D. or D.D. is not certain, but the latter is slightly indicated. The census of 1790 shows that then there was in his family one male and two females under 16 years of age.2 |
