Story Stephen Henry was reared in hotel by an elderly couple and came to Mich after the Civil War to stay with an Aunt,where he met Lucy Ellen Osgood and they were married soon after. They came to Iowa Falls where Uncle Wilder lived, and left Iowa when Allen was a baby to go back to Mich to care for Mother's Father and Mother. They were to get the 40 Acre homestead there, for caring for them, and an invalid sister, Aunt Frances. In the will they were to bury all of them, paying all expenses, erect monuments, etc.
During summer of 1866 worked for Mercer Iron and Coal Company as NightWatchman. Boarded with James C. Nolan who gives testimony from Vienna,Trumbull County, OH.
Lived in Adrian, Lenawee County, MI prior to marriage per Civil War Pension records. Made his home in the summer of 1868 with Mrs. A.S.Burlingame. (His brother John Glidden's mother-in-law)
